The Spanish Federation of Pádel, presided over by Miguel Medina, has decided finally on the candidacy of Murcia to welcome VIII the Championship of the World that will be celebrated in the second fortnight of October of 2006. This Murcia form it has left chosen as opposed to the supplies of Bilbao - whose candidacy has been presented/displayed by the Vizcaína- Federation, Malaga - asked for by the Club Reserve of Higuerón- and Seville - requested by the Pineda- Club. The Lieutenant Mayor of Deportes, Miguel Cascales, who is in Zaragoza - where the Championship of Spain de Pádel- is celebrated has shown its satisfaction because Murcia continues being “a city of first division. The sport federations are getting used to thinking about our city like seat of championships of maximum level and that is consequence of the effort that we have done in the construction of new facilities and the recognition that we have obtained in the organization of other previous events, as it were the case of the Olympic Days of the European Youth of 2001, eliminatory of the Glass the Davises or the Glass of the King of Basketball, among others”. The proposal of the City council offered the possibility of using three different municipal facilities: the Palace of Deportes, with three tracks constructed for the competition - three interiors and one more in the outer gardens, where the final phase would be disputed and the central seat would settle; the Sport Complex of the Fleet, whose works will finalize before, that will include 7 tracks; and the facilities of the Pavilion of the Infant Juan Manuel, that have three tracks more. The Championship of the World of Pádel comes celebrating from 1975, in that occasion in Mexico, and it organizes every two years. Argentina, France, Mexico and Spain are the countries where until now the previous editions have been organized and where greater liking exists, along with Brazil, the United States and Canada. |
